Principals: Regina Opera auditions, which are held as needed throughout the season, are by invitation only. Send us your resume and photo, and we’ll contact you if a suitable role is available. There is no audition fee. We provide the accompanist, although you may of course bring your own if you prefer. If you are chosen for a role, you MUST be available for rehearsals Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, as well as for all performance dates.

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to pay our singers. But we provide valuable experience in standard repertoire and exposure to a wide audience (average 300 attendees per performance — each soloist gets two performances per production) in fully-staged productions with a 35- to 40-piece orchestra.

Email your resume and headshot to Linda Lehr at

Please make sure your resume indicates where you actually reside (city and state or country), and includes a contact phone number and e-mail address. Note to singers who live outside New York City: We cannot provide room and board.

Chorus: E-mail Linda Lehr at to audition for our chorus. We are especially in need of tenors and basses. Choristers must be able to read music and be available to attend rehearsals on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, as well as extra rehearsals as needed.

Dancers: We are often in need of dancers. Please send your resume to if you would like to be considered for a future production.

Stage Directors and Conductors

Your resume is always welcome; we will contact you for an interview if a position opens. And let us know if you have something in production that you’d like us to see. We pay a nominal honorarium. E-mail your resume to us at

Piano accompanists and orchestral players should e-mail us at Payment is per service.

Technical and Other Staff

The backbone of any opera company is backstage. We are always looking for technical staff of any experience level (except as noted) for the following positions:

A nominal honorarium may be paid depending on the position and our budget. E-mail us at to apply.

We also need volunteers to handle the box office, concessions, ushering, and cleanup — no pay, but you get to see fine opera for free!
